Caeetto allegedly shot a victim with an assault rifle.

OAK RIDGE, N.C. (WGHP) — A Guilford County deputy was shot on Monday, and the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office is now providing more details on the events that led to the shooting.

GCSO Major Crimes Investigative Unit Captain M. Holder shared new information regarding the shooting on Wednesday afternoon.

Just before 1:30 a.m. on Monday, deputies with the GSCO responded to “an incident” on Skippers Trace in Oak Ridge.

One of the responding deputies was shot at the scene and taken to a local hospital. The suspect, Andrew Ryan Caetto, 54, of Oak Ridge, was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has been arrested.

Caetto is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, misdemeanor assault on a law enforcement officer and felony assault on a law enforcement officer with a firearm.

Caetto allegedly shot a victim with an assault rifle, according to warrants.
