This year's theme is "Forever First in Flight," highlighting North Carolina's history as aviation innovators. Since 2013, over 13,000 North Carolina students from over 825 schools have participated in the contest. Unlike previous years, this year's contest will be limited to state-level competition and will not advance to the national or international level.
