Good news for caffeine addicts: Starbucks is opening a new coffee shop in Raleigh this summer.

The 1,000-square-foot location with a drive-thru will be at 7447 Six Forks Road, near Sawmill Road, a Starbucks spokesperson told The News & Observer in an email.

While the coffee shop’s building is new, it is located on the site of a former BB&T bank in the Celebration at Six Forks shopping center. Other businesses there include McDonald’s, Village Dental, Domino’s Pizza, The UPS Store and Dollar General.

Starbucks recently unveiled a new “Pairing Menu,” offering all-day discounts for drink and food combinations. Starting at $5, customers can get a tall iced or hot coffee or tea and a butter croissant. A tall hot or iced coffee or tea with a breakfast sandwich starts at $6. The Seattle-based coffee company joins fast food chains Wendy’s and McDonald’s in offering deals to customers to increase sales, according to CNN.

Other large retailers, such as Target, Aldi and Walgreens, also recently announced that they’re cutting prices on hundreds or even thousands of items across departments, The N&O previously reported.

There are several other Starbucks stores within a few miles of the new Six Forks store. Here are a few:

• Inside Target on Six Forks Road at Strickland

• At Six Forks Road and Strickland Road

The area is also home to several local cafes. Family-owned SOLA Coffee is just down the road, at Sawmill and Lead Mine Road. Jubala Coffee also has a location about three miles away, on Honeycutt Road.

Another large chain, Biggby Coffee, has a store a couple of miles south from the new Starbucks on Six Forks.

• Drift Coffee & Kitchen, a popular cafe founded in Wilmington, opened a new location on Wade Avenue in Raleigh in June, The N&O previously reported. The cafe plans to open its second Triangle cafe in Chapel Hill later this year.

• In May, Joe Van Gogh opened inside a Durham office building. That was the sixth location for the coffee chain, which began in Chapel Hill.
