The driver fled the scene in an unknown direction, but the vehicle is black and may have significant damage. THOMASVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — Police are investigating after a person was seriously injured in a hit-and-run early Wednesday morning.

According to the Thomasville Police Department, just after 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday they responded to the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Lincoln Street about a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.

Police say that a pedestrian was walking on the sidewalk on Martin Luther King Drive when a car ran off the road and hit them. The suspect left the scene in an “unknown direction” but the vehicle is black and may have damage to the front left corner, hood and possibly the windshield.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Anyone who knows anything should call the Thomasville Traffic Safety Unit at (336) 475-4260.
