BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A plan to shape the future of a portion of northeast Burlington is moving forward with the help of community voices. City leaders have been developing the North Chur… The North Church Street Area Plan, a plan to shape the future of a portion of northeast Burlington, is being developed with the help of community voices. The plan aims to add new developments to the area, including strategies for reinvestment, revitalization, land use and property reuse. The vision includes transportation, environmental remediation and safety in the area. Jamie Lawson, the city's executive director of planning and zoning services, said the plan offers another opportunity for the area as a place for new commercial, new restaurants, new shops, and infill developments. The public hearing will be held on Nov. 17.
