Charlton Warren after taking over as NC State DC: ‘We damn sure will be ready’
Charlton Warren, NC State's new defensive coordinator, met with the media ahead of Saturday's home game against Cal. He talked about stepping into the role, "chasing inches" on defense, what went wrong against Stanford, and how his time at the Air Force Academy prepared him for this moment. Charlton Warren has taken over the role of defensive play-calling for the rest of the season for NC State, taking over from head coach Dave Doeren and defensive coordinator DJ Eliot following a loss at Stanford. Warren, who previously called the defense against Virginia Tech last season while Eliot was away from the team, was the defensive coordinator at Air Force and Indiana before moving to Raleigh. He discussed his new role with the media ahead of the home game against Cal, stating that he is confident in his ability to "chase inches" on defense to put them in position to win games. Warren also mentioned his time at the Air Force Academy as a play caller, which he believes will help him in the future.
