North Carolina AG among those suing Dollar General over pricing policies
North Carolina's Attorney General Jeff Jackson is taking retailer Dollar General to court. Jackson said the issue centers over pricing policies. North Carolina’s Attorney General, Jeff Jackson, is suing Dollar General for raising prices for many of their products without updating the sticker price on shelves, causing customers to unknowingly pay more at the register. Jackson claims that Dollar General is aware of the overcharging issue and has had numerous opportunities to make its sticker prices match its checkout prices. The company has failed thousands of state pricing audits and received nearly 30,000 complaints about stores not honoring the listed price. Last week, the North Carolina Department of Agriculture fined 10 Dollar General locations for overcharging customers beyond the listed prices. While this lawsuit is pending, shoppers can check their receipt before leaving the store and ask the store to correct it.
