Former 'Jeopardy!' champion from Raleigh faces 10 child sexual exploitation charges
A former "Jeopardy!" champion from Raleigh faces 10 felony child sexual exploitation charges after previously being charged with secretly recording people in a bathroom and bedroom. Philip Joseph "Joey" DeSena, a 44-year-old Raleigh man, has been charged with 10 felony counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of secret peeping after allegedly duplicating child sexual abuse material. The charges stem from allegedly duplicated multiple image and video files depicting children in sexually explicit situations. The offenses occurred on Nov. 19, 2025. DeSna is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 26.
